We were in the area last night and wanted to grab some dinner to-go, so after finding this place, I called and placed our order. We're both Charlestonians, so we know what good food tastes like. The food here did not disappoint, and that's saying a lot these days when most places take shortcuts and seem to feel fine about delivering mediocre food at full price. We ordered the beef short ribs and the salmon entrees, goat cheese gnocchi, carrot cake, and cheesecake. I'm telling you, RUN, do not walk, to get those short ribs! Fall apart tender, boneless, and delicious. The salmon wasn't dried out but was slightly smaller than expected; still, not disappointing, though. If you like cheese and bangin' flavor, the gnocchi is creamy, tasty, and plentiful. We each had enough left over for a nice sized lunch (or dinner) today. The carrot cake is a sheet cake square with nice flavor. The cheesecake slice is a little too small to be taken seriously, but has a good flavor. We had a couple of glitches during our wait, so we sat at the bar and had a cold apple cider beer. The big, beautiful, silver lining that happened here, though, shone through in their amazing manager, Shelby, who was hustling hard on a busy night but still made the time several times to stop and chat with us and make sure we were good and happy. I'm big on customer service, that that lady is top notch. This cozy place in a big, beautiful house-turned-restaurant is a can't miss. We'll definitely be back.

5-Star Experience at Five Loaves Cafe! We stopped in for lunch and had another great experience! I tried the kale salad with berries—very tasty and fresh. Big thanks to the staff for the referral! I also had the roast beef in a spinach wrap, and it hit the spot. My wife stuck with her favorites: the roast beast sandwich and the Mexican chicken chili soup—she gets them every time, so you know they’re consistently good! Service is always excellent—friendly, quick, and on point. One tip for my fellow cold-natured folks: bring a coat! It stays a little chilly inside, especially for us seasoned diners. Great food great people always worth the visit!

We loved our time here! The service was fantastic. The hostess and our waitress were amazing, speedy, and efficient! And the food was fantastic with large portions. I especially loved the broccoli cheddar potato soup . Thank you for labeling the gluten free and vegetarian options!! It fills up fast, many people are trying to eat here.

This Cafe was so so so beautiful. The service was fast, so polite, and very comforting. The place itself was so nostalgic and easy to the eyes, especially while eating. The food was so delicious and different from usual places to eat. From their sweet flavor profiles and mixes for their sandwiches. All the way down to amazing Mocktails (I had 4 of their peach/Raspberry mocktails from how delicious it was). I would come here again anytime. I don't really have any complaints, the service was better than any I have ever had. My server was Savannah W., and she had one of the sweetest and the most energetic personality I have ever had the pleasure talking to. I really appreciated the smiles everyone had, the amazing food made by the chef and the prices where absolutely reasonable with how lovely the food and atmosphere were. Even my husband is crippled after eating so much of the amazing food.
